In vitro demonstration of herbal exacerbation of paracetamol-induced hepatotoxicity

open access: yesPhytomedicine Plus, 2022
Background: Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is one of the most accessible pharmaceutical analgesic and antipyretic agents. Similarly, traditional herbal medicines including Psoralea corylifolia, Astragalus propinquus and Atractylodes macrocephala have been ...

Lime-induced phytophotodermatitis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Community Hospital Internal Medicine Perspectives, 2014
This case describes a scenario of lime-induced phytophotodermatitis. Phytophotodermatitis is a dermatitis caused after the skin is exposed to photosensitizing compounds in plants and then exposed to sunlight.

Immunoengineering eines Photocage‐geschützten 5′‐Triphosphat‐Oligoribonukleotid‐Liganden zur spatiotemporalen Kontrolle der RIG‐I‐Aktivierung bei Tumoren

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 21, May 19, 2025.

Immunoengineering of a Photocaged 5´‐triphosphate Oligoribonucleotide Ligand for Spatiotemporal Control of RIG‐I Activation in Cancer

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 64, Issue 21, May 19, 2025.
This study presents a method for precise control of RIG‐I (retinoic acid inducible gene I), an innate immune receptor of RNA that, when activated, induces anti‐tumor immune responses and cancer cell death. By incorporating photocage modifications into RNA ligands, we enable a spatially and temporally regulated immune response and offer a targeted ...

A Cytotoxic Indazole‐based Gold(III) Carboxamide Pincer Complex Targeting DNA Through Dual Binding Modes of Groove Binding and Alkylation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 27, May 14, 2025.
Toward new gold(III) anticancer agents. Herein, we report on an indazole‐based gold(III) carboxamide pincer complex exhibiting significant cytotoxicity, likely mediated through dual interactions with DNA. Mechanistic investigations suggest that the complex binds to the DNA and forms specific interactions with nucleotide bases.

Alopecia Areata: Pathogenesis, Diagnosis, and Therapies

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
This review probed into the immune factors in the pathogenesis of AA, focusing on the small molecule drugs and biologics for the treatment of AA, and anticipated the research direction in terms of the pathogenesis and targeted therapy of AA. It aims to emphasize the necessity for further exploration of its immunological pathogenesis and therapeutic ...

An Efficient Synthetic Strategy for the Preparation of Nucleic Acid-Encoded Peptide and Protein Libraries for In Vitro Evolution Protocols

open access: yesMolecules, 2000
We describe an improved synthetic strategy for the preparation of nucleic acid encoded peptide and protein libraries. A solid-phase format was used to prepare and purify a novel type of mRNA-template for in vitro mRNA-protein fusion synthesis.

Contributions of in situ hybridization of sRNA to the study on spatio-temporal gene expression in Hevea brasiliensis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Since the dawn of the genomics era, much research has focused on functional studies of genes of interest. In situ hybridization is a method that can be used to precisely localize the expression of a gene in tissues and cells.
