Genetic ancestry–concordant ceramide metabolism and response to androgen receptor pathway inhibition in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesCancer, Volume 132, Issue 11, 1 June 2026.
Abstract Background The authors observed differences in response between Black and White patients with metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) who were treated prospectively with androgen receptor pathway inhibition (ARPI) in the Abi Race and PANTHER studies.

Phylogenetic Diversity Outperforms Functional Diversity in Predicting Aboveground Biomass Across Tree Strata in a Subtropical Forest

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Conducted in a subtropical forest in southwestern China, this study evaluates how various dimensions of plant biodiversity regulate aboveground biomass (AGB) across forest strata under consistent edaphic and topographic conditions, addressing the insufficiently elucidated question of which biodiversity dimension most prominently impacts AGB ...

Investigation of Risk Factors Related to Stroke in the Bangladeshi Population: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Bangladesh faces a rise in stroke, with a prevalence of stroke up to 11.4 per thousand. Almost 90% of the attributable risk of stroke is linked to the modifiable risk factors, and proper identification and control of these factors significantly decreases stroke incidence.

Resorption Pattern and Bone Regeneration Using a Synthetic Bone Substitute Block With or Without rhBMP‐2 and Bisphosphonates: An in Vivo Experiment

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate whether recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein‐2 (rhBMP‐2) or bisphosphonate added to synthetic block bone substitute influences new bone formation and grafting material degradation patterns. In a rabbit calvarial model, four critical‐size bone defects were created and treated with a saline‐soaked ...

Spinoza's Version of the PSR

open access: yes, 2014
Michael Della Rocca has provided an influential interpretation of Spinoza relying heavily on the principle of sufficient reason. In order to challenge this interpretation, I identify three assumptions Della Rocca makes about the PSR and demonstrate that it is not clear Spinoza shares them. First, Della Rocca contends that the PSR is unlimited in scope.
