Leukocyte Telomere Length and Its Polygenic Risk Score in Post‐Stroke Cognitive Impairment: Evidence From a Multicenter Cohort Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
In a multicenter Chinese ischemic stroke/TIA cohort (n = 923), baseline leukocyte telomere length (LTL) and an 18‐SNP LTL polygenic risk score (LTL‐PRS) were not independently associated with 12‐month norm‐referenced MoCA‐defined post‐stroke cognitive impairment after multivariable adjustment; nominal heterogeneity by age and TOAST subtype was ...

Psychotic Symptoms Following Subthalamic DBS in Parkinson's Disease: Three Clinical Cases and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Psychosis may emerge after subthalamic deep brain stimulation in Parkinson's disease, regardless of prior psychiatric history. Early recognition of stimulation‐related behavioral changes, careful dopaminergic adjustment, and multidisciplinary postoperative monitoring are essential to differentiate DBS‐induced psychotic symptoms from disease ...

Advancing Maternal Health with Long‐Acting Therapeutics: Priorities, Efficacy and Safety Considerations, and Emerging Technologies

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 119, Issue 5, Page 1179-1194, May 2026.
Maternal health remains a critical global concern, particularly in underserved populations and in low‐ and middle‐income countries where access to safe and effective therapeutics is limited. Despite the use of medications by most women during pregnancy, the exclusion of pregnant and lactating women from clinical trials has resulted in significant data ...

Trial‐By‐Trial Changes in Neural Indices of Performance Monitoring Uniquely Correspond to Behavioral Adjustments During a Flanker Task

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 7, May 2026.
Trial‐by‐trial modeling revealed that neural variability in performance‐monitoring ERPs (N2, P3, ERN, Pe) predicts both the mean and variability of response times and mean accuracy in a flanker task. These findings show that fluctuations in brain activity reflect dynamic adjustments in cognitive control, linking neural variability to adaptive behavior.
