Role of Tyrosine Phosphorylation in PTP–PEST

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2023
We study the influence of tyrosine phosphorylation on PTP-PEST, a cytosolic protein tyrosine phosphatase. Utilizing a combination of experimental data and computational modeling, specific tyrosine sites, notably Y64 and Y88, are identified for potential phosphorylation.

HD-PTP inhibits endothelial migration through its interaction with Src

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, 2009
Endothelial migration, early step in angiogenesis, is tightly regulated by the coordinated action of tyrosine kinases and tyrosine phosphatases. HD-PTP contributes to endothelial motility, since endothelial cells silencing HD-PTP after transfection with ...

PTP is Meaningless, T‐PTP is Contradictory: A Reply to Trueman

Cladistics, 1998
Abstract — The T‐PTP test for monophyly can attribute significance to entirely unsupported groups and even to both of two contradictory alternatives. The method of evaluating “support” after replacing selected groups of terminals with reconstructed ancestors has similar drawbacks.

PTPs: Degrading the Undruggable

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2020
By using a proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) strategy that couples an allosteric, reversible PTP inhibitor with an E3 ligase targeting ligand through a well-designed linker, the first molecule to successfully inhibit PTP activity through degradation has been developed.

Crystallization of PTP Domains

2016
Protein crystallography is the most powerful method to obtain atomic resolution information on the three-dimensional structure of proteins. An essential step towards determining the crystallographic structure of a protein is to produce good quality crystals from a concentrated sample of purified protein.
