RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.

As a pilot phase of the Central Asian Genomic Diversity Project, whole‐genome sequencing of 166 individuals from 20 Central Asian and Afghan Hazara populations reveals fine‐scale substructure shaped by repeated trans‐Eurasian migration and admixture. Integrated analyses uncover post‐admixture adaptation, archaic introgression, and medically relevant ...

Abstract Macaws are renowned for processing dry, mechanically resistant fruits, yet the species‐level anatomical and functional correlates of this performance remain incompletely resolved. We examined the feeding apparatus of the Blue‐and‐yellow Macaw (Ara ararauna) using an integrated approach that combines osteology, myology, and bite‐force estimates

Expert‐validated criteria for evaluating 2D anatomical images: Results of a Delphi consensus study
Abstract Currently, there are no consensus standards for the selection of two‐dimensional (2D) anatomical images that form the basis of anatomy education. The absence of standardized evaluation criteria may contribute to variability in image quality and inconsistencies in the educational use of anatomical visuals, potentially affecting students ...

Comparison of Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy and Three-Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy in Postoperative High-Grade Glioma: A Dosimetric Comparison [PDF]
Introduction: We aimed to dosimetrically compare three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) in terms of planning target volume (PTV) coverage, organ at risk (OAR) sparing, and conformity index (CI ...

DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW ALGORITHM FOR PTV

Under which conditions could a column increase the flow through an exit? A simulation study [PDF]
Empirical studies in the past have produced different results about whether an obstacle placed in front of a bottleneck can increase the flow of pedestrians through the bottleneck. Here, simulations are used to try to determine the conditions under which
