Postcode‐Level Variation and Environmental Determinants of Respiratory Allergies in a Large German Cohort

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Young children (0–9 years) and residents of urban areas appeared particularly vulnerable to respiratory allergy development and exacerbation. Incidence showed nonlinear associations with PM10, PM2.5, temperature, and alder/birch pollen, while DPMR showed similar patterns, except for NO2 and the interaction O3*NO2.

The use of deidentified organ donor testes for research

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Our knowledge of testis development and function mainly comes from research using mammalian model organisms, primarily the mouse. However, there are integral differences between men and other mammalian species regarding cellular composition and expression profiles during fetal and post‐natal testis development and in the mature testis ...

BRD9 inhibition as potential treatment option for testicular germ cell tumors

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT) are the predominant tumor in younger males. Usually, 5‐year survival rates are quite high, but 15–20% of patients with metastatic non‐seminomas are resistant to standard cisplatin‐based therapy.

Identification of MEF2A, MEF2C, and MEF2D interactomes in basal and Fsk‐stimulated mouse MA‐10 Leydig cells

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Myocyte enhancer factor 2 transcription factors regulate essential transcriptional programs in various cell types. The activity of myocyte enhancer factor 2 factors is modulated through interactions with cofactors, chromatin remodelers, and other regulatory proteins, which are dependent on cell context and physiological state.

Multifactorial determinants of male genital measurements: Correlations of stretched penile length and anogenital distance with anthropometric parameters

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The stretched penile length is recognized as the most reliable measure of true penile size, this fact is not widely acknowledged, and societal myths often associate penile length with other anthropometric measurements. While markers of prenatal androgen exposure, such as anogenital distance and the second‐to‐fourth digit ratio (2D ...

The role of iron in normal and impaired testicular function

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Iron plays a critical role in testicular physiology, impacting spermatogenesis, testosterone production, and overall testicular function. Iron homeostasis is maintained through systemic and cellular regulatory mechanisms, including hepcidin‐mediated systemic iron control and the iron‐responsive element/iron regulatory protein (IRE/IRP) system ...
