Temporal characterization of the insulin resistance during puberty in mice

Objectives. The onset of puberty in humans is followed by an increase in insulin resistance and this transient phenomenon decreases at the end of the puberty. However, the insulin resistance during puberty has not been described in mice.

ABSTRACT The pathogenesis of Sydenham chorea remains unclear. We report a 10‐year‐old girl presenting with subacute chorea and mild carditis following Streptococcal throat infection. Single‐cell RNA sequencing on 30,794 peripheral immune cells from the patient and two sex‐matched controls revealed nine immune cell clusters.

‘We never talk about puberty’: a qualitative assessment of a faith-based distribution of puberty books

International Journal of Adolescence and Youth
Many adolescents across sub-Saharan Africa receive inadequate puberty education, hindering their ability to successfully manage the transition into adolescence. The use of puberty books provides a low-capacity approach to delivering such guidance.

Background Maturational signal in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) of skeletally immature youth is often misinterpreted as inflammation. Diagnostic tools that improve specificity are greatly needed. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), when used with standard imaging, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.
