Puccinia striiformis Westend. var. Dactylidis var.nov.

Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1960
Puccinia striiformis var. dactylidis var.nov. is described and illustrated. It differs from the type variety in its smaller spores, higher temperature optimum for uredospore germination and inability to infect hosts other than Dactylis .

Morphology of infection structures of puccinia striiformis var. dactylidis

Netherlands Journal of Plant Pathology, 1989
The yellow rust fungusPuccinia striiformis var.dactylidis of cocksfoot differs clearly in the morphology of infection structures from both the nominate form, var.striiformis of wheat, barley andElymus and var.striiformis f. sp.poae affectingPoa pratensis. The observations are in accordance with the idea that var.dactylidis and var.striiformis f.sp.poae

Origin of a new race of Puccinia striiformis

Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1980
Tests were carried out on the progeny of a mixture of two races of Puccinia striiformis Westd., following the inoculation of susceptible and differentially resistant cultivars. A new race designated 105E137 was identified from the mixed inoculation of races 104E137 and 33E32.

SRAP technique efficiently generates polymorphisms in puccinia striiformis isolates

Journal of Phytopathology, 2010
Wheat stripe rust, caused by the fungal pathogen Puccinia striiformis f.sp. tritici (PST), is a major disease of wheat in temperate-cold climates. The identification of new markers would ease the procedure for evaluating the ongoing pathogen evolution.

COLORED MUTANTS OF PUCCINIA STRIIFORMIS WEST

1963
Abstract : Colored mutants of puccinia striiformis were studied from natural mutation of fungi that produced white pustules rather than the normal orange pustules. the mutant morphology, infective characteristics, germination and color were observed in the many host passages.

Atmospheric Ions and Germination of Uredospores of Puccinia striiformis

Science, 1967
Atmospheric ions, identified by mobility characteristics, were associated with germination of lyophilized uredospores of Puccinia striiformis West. at Bozeman Montana. Ions of intermediate size were highest in concentration, and percentage germination of spores was lowest during periods conducive to air pollution ...

Understanding Puccinia striiformis West. epidemics on winter wheat.

Mededelingen (Rijksuniversiteit te Gent. Fakulteit van de Landbouwkundige en Toegepaste Biologische Wetenschappen), 2003
Yellow rust epidemics, caused by Puccinia striiformis West., often arise in wheat field as infection focus of a few decimetres of diameter, including some sporulating lesions on a few plants. Under appropriate environmental conditions such as high relative humidity and temperatures between 2 and 20 degrees C, those initial foci may grow rapidly and ...
