A W-Band On-Wafer Active Load-Pull System Based on Down-Conversion Techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A new W-band active load-pull system is presented. It is the first load-pull system to implement a 94 GHz load by means of an active loop exploiting frequency conversion techniques.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Faulting Mechanism of Tarutung Earthquake 2022 Mw 5.8 Using Moment Tensor Inversion

open access: yesJournal of Applied Geospatial Information, 2023
On October 1, 2022, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 shook the Tarutung area which was generated by an active fault at a shallow depth of 10 km. In this study, relocating the hypocenter and determining the mechanism of the earthquake was carried out

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Approximate Analytical Algorithm for Pull-Out Resistance–Displacement Relationship of Series—Connected Anchor Plate Anchorage System

open access: yesBuildings
To improve the pull-out bearing capacity of the anchor plate support system, a support system with series-connected anchor plates was proposed. Based on the Winkler foundation model, a theoretical analysis method for the pull-out resistance–displacement ...

Fast identification of the pull-in voltage of a nano/micro-electromechanical system

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2022
The pull-in voltage is crucial in designing an optimal nano/micro-electromechanical system (N/MEMS). It is vital to have a simple formulation to calculate the pull-in voltage with relatively high accuracy.

Adaptive control circuit prevents amplifier saturation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
Adaptive control circuit prevents saturation of push-pull output amplifiers used in low-power, low-torque suspension system. The adaptive control circuit senses how near the output amplifiers are to saturation and sets the B voltage in such a way as to ...

Pair of null gravitating shells II. Canonical theory and embedding variables [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The study of the two shell system started in our first paper ``Pair of null gravitating shells I'' (gr-qc/0112060) is continued. An action functional for a single shell due to Louko, Whiting and Friedman is generalized to give appropriate equations of ...

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...
