Pulmonary Arterial Blood Volume and Tissue Volume in Man and Dog [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation Research, 1974
After the injection of an ethyl ether-alcohol solution above the pulmonic valve, the pulmonary arterial circulation time was determined in conscious man by an established body plethysmographic technique and in anesthetized man by a newly developed pneumotachographic method.

Pulmonary blood volume and pulmonary extravascular water volume in men.

open access: yesJapanese Circulation Journal, 1985
In order to estimate the pulmonary blood volume between the pulmonary artery trunk and the left atrium (PBV PAT-LA), simultaneously with the pulmonary extravascular water volume (PEWV) in the chronically stable cardiac patients, we employed the double indicator dilution method using heat as a diffusible indicator and indocyanine green as a non ...

Norepinephrine and dobutamine improve cardiac index equally by supporting opposite sides of the heart in an experimental model of chronic pulmonary hypertension

open access: yesIntensive Care Medicine Experimental, 2021
Background Pulmonary hypertension is a significant risk factor in patients undergoing surgery. The combined effects of general anaesthesia and positive pressure ventilation can aggravate this condition and cause increased pulmonary blood pressures ...

4D-flow MRI assessment of blood flow before and after endovascular intervention in a patient with pulmonary hypertension due to isolated pulmonary artery involvement in large vessel vasculitis

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2020
A 43-year-old woman presented with dyspnea during exertion and lower leg edema. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography images demonstrated extensive proximal narrowing in the right main pulmonary artery with thickening and enhancement.

Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Energetic performance analysis of staged palliative surgery in tricuspid atresia using vector flow mapping

open access: yesCardiovascular Ultrasound, 2017
Background Staged palliative surgery markedly shifts the balance of volume load on a single ventricle and pulmonary vascular bed. Blalock-Taussig shunt necessitates a single ventricle eject blood to both the systemic and pulmonary circulation.

Pulmonary blood volume in mitral stenosis. [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 1965
Various haemodynamic parameters in patients with mitral stenosis have been extensively studied but only a few measure ments of the pulmonary blood volume are available (Milnor et al., 1960 ; Dock et al., 1961 ; McGaff et al., 1963 ; Schreiner et al., 1963 ; Yu et al., 1963).
