Six cases of pulmonary nocardiosis are reported. All patients were compromised hosts treated with corticosteroids and/or immunosuppressive agents. The clinical presentations ranged from malaise to respiratory failure. The radiological manifestations varied from a solitary nodule to extensive cavitary bronchopneumonia with distant dissemination.

Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1976SUMMARY Pulmonary nocardiosis was diagnosed in an adult male orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) being maintained in an outdoor facility. Periodically, the orangutan had had clinical signs of an upper respiratory tract infection, as evidenced by slight nasal discharge and cough.

Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis and nocardiosis
The American Journal of Medicine, 1960Abstract A case of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis complicated by suppurative pneumonia due to Nocardia brasiliensis is reported. The nocardiosis was successfully treated. The lesions due to pulmonary alveolar proteinosis have disappeared, as judged by radiographic study, during the course of two years.
