Increased pulp yield by prolonged impregnation in softwood kraft pulping

open access: yesNordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal, 2017
The effect on kraft cooking proceeded by an impregnation stage performed at 130 degrees C for 30 min was compared to kraft cooking following prolonged impregnation at 105 degrees C for 60-120 min. The alkali consumed during impregnation varied depending on the temperature and time of the impregnation stage.

Improvement of the properties of Poplar chemi-mechanical newsprint through controlling process parameters [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات علوم چوب و کاغذ ایران, 2018
One of the drawbacks of utilizing non-forest fast growing species of Poplar as raw materials to produce newsprint in Mazandran Pulp and Paper Mill is fairly low bulk and opacity of produced paper at the yield of 85% (current CMP yield of the Mill).

The relationship of pulp yield with ethanol pulping concentrations on Acacia hybrid [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science, 2016
This study aimed at determining the total yield, screened yield, rejected yield, Kappa number and viscosity of organosolv Acacia hybrid pulp. Acacia hybrid wood chips of uniform size were used to undergo pulping in a digester with five different ethanol concentrations, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 % (v/v) with 1 M of sodium hydroxide as catalyst and water ...

Improvement of high yield pulps.

open access: yesJAPAN TAPPI JOURNAL, 1989
A variety of chemical treatments were employed in the production of high yield pulps from softwood (spruce) and hardwoods (birch, oak) by thermo -mechanical pulping. The effects of these chemical treatments on the physical, chemical and morphological properties of pulps were investigated.Of the pretreatment chemicals investigated, neutral and bisulfite
