Role of second trimester uterine artery doppler in early prediction of preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction among high-risk Bahamian residents

open access: yesSAGE Open Medicine
Background: Uterine artery doppler velocimetry has proven to be efficient in the prediction of preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction. We aimed to determine its value among high-risk Bahamian women and the most predictive parameter. Methods: We

Interobserver and intraobserver variability of fetal and maternal Doppler measurements: systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the variability and reproducibility of umbilical artery (UA), fetal middle cerebral artery (MCA) and uterine artery (UtA) Doppler ultrasound measurements in pregnancy. Methods A systematic search of MEDLINE, EMBASE and the Cochrane Library (CENTRAL) was conducted from inception to 17 June 2024.

1.1 DIABETES AND CENTRAL BLOOD PRESSURE IN CORONARY PATIENTS

open access: yesArtery Research, 2016
Background: Relative (represented by pulsatility) as well as absolute (pulse pressure) changes of central blood pressure (BP) were shown to predict cardiovascular (CV) complications in coronary patients.

Towards the Development of a Conceptual Framework of the Determinants of Pre‐eclampsia: A Hierarchical Systematic Review of Biomarkers

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pre‐eclampsia is a leading cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. There are several determinants of individual pregnant women's risk of developing pre‐eclampsia, including biomarkers and ultrasound markers. Objective A conceptual framework to collate and summarise the extensive body of literature on biomarkers ...

The Performance of Selective Screening Ultrasound to Detect the Small‐for‐Gestational‐Age Foetus: A Prospective Cohort Study Nested Within the DESiGN Randomised Control Trial

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Evidence on the performance of foetal growth ultrasound parameters to detect the Small‐for‐Gestational‐Age (SGA) foetus for a selective cohort is limited. We report the performance of estimated foetal weight under the 10th percentile (EFW < 10th) at the last selective screening ultrasound to detect SGA based on gestational age of ...

Longitudinal Doppler assessment and perinatal outcomes in early‐set intrauterine growth restriction fetuses

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
In early‐onset fetal growth restriction requiring delivery before 30 weeks, shorter intervals to abnormal ductus venosus and umbilical artery Doppler findings are associated with severe morbidity and mortality, highlighting the prognostic value of longitudinal Doppler assessment.

National Practice Patterns of VA ECMO and Left Ventricular Mechanical Unloading for Cardiogenic Shock

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
Consensus surrounding the management of VA ECMO and left ventricular mechanical unloading for cardiogenic shock (CS) is limited. We thus conducted a national survey of practice patterns in the treatment of CS to characterize such variability, finding large heterogeneity in CS diagnosis, VA ECMO initiation, and LVMU strategies.
