PULSATING HEAT PIPE IN HYPERGRAVITY CONDITIONS

open access: yesHeat Pipe Science and Technology, An International Journal, 2015
A closed-loop pulsating heat pipe made of a copper tube (1.1 mm/2 mm I.D./O.D.) and filled with FC-72 has been tested in a large-diameter centrifuge (LDC) of the European Space Agency in Noordwijk at different hypergravity levels up to 20 g, different heat input levels, and different orientations with respect to the gravity direction (vertical bottom ...

Omnidirectional Shape Proprioception for Untethered Shape Memory Alloy‐Driven Soft Robotic Arms

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A lightweight, modular soft robotic arm employs SMA actuation and a multi‐Hall‐magnet sensing system to achieve accurate omnidirectional shape proprioception. Each 35 g segment enables scalable assembly, while robust proprioception supports versatile navigation and manipulation in complex, unstructured environments.

Research on Diaphragm Pump Fault Diagnosis Method Based on Res‐DCB‐Net

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nonstationary pressure pulsation signals of diaphragm pumps contain strong background noise and coupled characteristics. This makes it challenging to extract incipient fault features and to decouple faults with similar physical mechanisms. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a spatiotemporal fault diagnosis model named Res‐DCB ...

Computational fluid dynamics simulations of airflow through the nasal passages of rhinolophoid bats

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The nasal passages of bats that emit their echolocation call through their nostrils have adapted for sound emission as well as standard respiratory and olfactory functions. Rhinolophids, hipposiderids and rhinonycterids all use a high duty cycle (HDC) echolocation strategy.
