Eight Phase-step δ Scuti Variables in TESS Data

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Analysis of the previously classified delta Scuti variable star MW Camelopardalis using data from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite sparked a deeper inquiry due to unexpected patterns within the target’s observed − calculated ( O − C ) diagram ...

Bayesian Nonparametric Shrinkage Applied to Cepheid Star Oscillations

open access: yes, 2012
Bayesian nonparametric regression with dependent wavelets has dual shrinkage properties: there is shrinkage through a dependent prior put on functional differences, and shrinkage through the setting of most of the wavelet coefficients to zero through ...

Recurrent Hypothermia and Autonomic Dysfunction Secondary to Shapiro Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 44‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hypothermia, diaphoresis and hypertension. Extensive investigation for infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine aetiologies was negative. MR scan of the brain demonstrated no lesions but revealed callosal dysgenesis, consistent with Shapiro syndrome.

Modeling of Two Low-amplitude Radially Pulsating δ Scuti Stars: KIC 12602250 and KIC 5768203

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
In this research, we conducted systematic photometric, spectroscopic, and theoretical modeling analyses of two δ Scuti stars—KIC 12602250 and KIC 5768203—that pulsate only in radial modes.

Nine New Variable Stars in Camelopardalis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Nine new short period variable stars have been discovered in the direction of the open cluster Cr464 in Camelopardalis. The field was observed using Tzec Maun Observatory's telescope AP180.

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Real‐World Longitudinal Data on the Impact of Hydroxychloroquine Blood Level Monitoring on Lupus Outcomes: Results of a Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a cornerstone therapy in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but the weight‐based dosing does not account for clinical factors that can introduce individual variability in drug metabolism and clearance. We leveraged longitudinal data from a prospective SLE cohort to identify clinical factors that predict ...

Classification of Periodic Variable Stars from TESS

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
The number of known periodic variable stars has increased rapidly in recent years. As an all-sky transit survey, the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) plays an important role in detecting low-amplitude variable stars.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

A Study of Double- and Multi-mode RR Lyrae Variables

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2015
We present the results of our new study of known RR Lyrae variable stars. All observations available for these stars in the Catalina Surveys were analyzed, and double-mode variations were identified.
