A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

An ultrasonic approach for contact stress mapping in machine joints and concentrated contacts [PDF]
The measurement of pressure at a contact in a machine part is important because contact stresses frequently lead to failure by seizure, wear or fatigue.

Pulse pressure and perioperative stroke [PDF]
Central pulse pressure (PP), a marker of vascular stiffness, is a novel indicator of risk for perioperative morbidity including ischemic stroke. Appreciation for the mechanism by which vascular stiffness leads to organ dysfunction along with understanding its clinical detection may lead to improved patient management.Vascular stiffness is associated ...

Field mapping of ballistic pressure pulse sources
Ballistic pressure pulse sources are used since late 1990s for the extracorporeal treatment of chronic Enthesitis. Newly indications are found in trigger-point-therapy for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. In both applications excellent results

2.2 TRANSFER FUNCTION-DERIVED CENTRAL PRESSURE AND CARDIOVASCULAR EVENTS: THE FRAMINGHAM HEART STUDY
Relations between central versus brachial blood pressure and major cardiovascular disease (CVD) events remain controversial. Central measures derived using radial tonometry and a generalized transfer function as implemented using the SphygmoCor device ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Droplet deformation by short laser-induced pressure pulses [PDF]
When a free-falling liquid droplet is hit by a laser it experiences a strong ablation driven pressure pulse. Here we study the resulting droplet deformation in the regime where the ablation pressure duration is short, i.e. comparable to the time scale on
