Exceptional preservation informs the paleobiology of tapinocephalid dinocephalians

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The tapinocephalid dinocephalian Moschops is one of the most iconic taxa of the middle Permian, yet its paleobiology remains one of the least well‐known. Here, we address some aspects of paleoneurology and paleobiology of Moschops using CT scanning of four well preserved skulls from the upper Abrahamskraal Formation of South Africa. Two of the

Pulse shape discrimination with fast digitizers

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2014
Abstract The pulse shape discrimination (PSD) between neutrons and gamma rays in liquid scintillators is studied by using the charge integration method with fast digitizers having different technical characteristics. The use of the Figure of Merit (FoM) to verify the PSD capability is discussed.

Improved pulse shape discrimination for high pressure 3He counters

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2018
The suppression of the internal detector background in 3He counters through pulse shape discrimination methods is becoming an area of interest for a growing number of experiments that want to detect low event rate signals.
