Hierarchical Twin Networks Enable Exceptional Strength and Fracture Toughness in Titanium
A commercial‐purity titanium with hierarchical ultrafine twin structures delivers an exceptional combination of fracture toughness (KJIc) of 187 MPa·m1/2 and specific yield strength of 140 MPa·cm3·g−1, in which pre‐engineered high‐density twin boundaries stimulate massive and

Synergistic control of surface uniformity and solid–electrolyte interphase robustness regulates potassium deposition, suppressing dendritic growth and enabling uniform, dense potassium plating. This combined strategy promotes stable interfacial chemistry and homogeneous electric‐field distribution, leading to enhanced reversibility and long‐term ...

Treatment‐resistant wounds caused by polymicrobial biofilms are refractory to conventional therapies due to the dense extracellular matrices. We developed μBLAST, a microblasting wound dressing that combines MnO2‐doped biosilica and a H2O2‐releasing mesh to generate localized oxygen microbubbles that mechanically disrupt biofilms.

This study investigates zwitterionic all‐solid‐state electrolytes, demonstrating strong carboxyl‐Li+ interaction that forms “ion‐enrichment pathway”‐like domains and manipulates Li+ deposition. Additionally, surface‐enriched zwitterions generate a dual‐layer SEI with an inner Li2O‐rich and outer LiF‐rich structure. Through ionic flux regulation and SEI

Analogy between anchor bolt failure and punching shear
Similarities in the behaviour, analysis and design of anchor bolts and punching shear are discussed. The treatment of size effects in codes is compared.

Punching shear of flat reinforced-concrete s labs under fire conditions [PDF]
This thesis examines punching shear response of reinforced-concrete flat slabs under fire conditions. The shear behaviour of concrete in fire is relatively poorly understood compared to its flexural response.

This study investigates the feasibility of scaling up Prussian White (PW)‐based cathode manufacturing at a pilot scale. Through careful PW dehydration combined with optimized aqueous processing, we report the stepwise development of industrially relevant 1 Ah pouch cells and evaluate their performance under various conditions.

Effect of marginal beams on the punching shear capacity of concrete slabs at exterior columns
It is common in concrete flat plate construction to connect the exterior columns with marginal, or edge, beams. In addition to the benefit gained from marginal beams in stiffening the slab edges and supporting the concentrated loads on the slab edge ...

Punching shear strengthening of flat slabs: CFRP and shear reinforcement
Punching in slabs is usually associated to the application of concentrated loads or to the presence of columns. One of the main concerns related to flat slabs is its punching shear capacity at slabcolumn connection, which is subjected to a very complex

Experimental investigation of strengthening slab-column connections with CFRP fan
This paper investigates experimentally the punching shear behavior of flat slabs-column connections strengthened with CFRP (Carbon fiber reinforced polymer) string having a fan shape as a new strengthening technique.
