Computer Solution to the Game of Pure Strategy [PDF]

open access: yesGames, 2012
We numerically solve the classical "Game of Pure Strategy" using linear programming. We notice an intricate even-odd behaviour in the results of our computations that seems to encourage odd or maximal bids.

Pure Strategy or Mixed Strategy? [PDF]

open access: yesCoRR, 2011
Mixed strategy EAs aim to integrate several mutation operators into a single algorithm. However few theoretical analysis has been made to answer the question whether and when the performance of mixed strategy EAs is better than that of pure strategy EAs.

Carbon dioxide adsorption and conversion to methane and ethane on hydrogen boride sheets

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry, 2022
Boron-containing materials have experimentally and theoretically been shown to be promising materials for CO2 capture and conversion. Here, hydrogen-deficient 2D hydrogen boride sheets are shown to physisorb CO2 and promote conversion to methane and ...

An eye movement study on the role of the visual field defect in pure alexia. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Pure alexia is a severe impairment of word reading which is usually accompanied by a right-sided visual field defect. Patients with pure alexia exhibit better preserved writing and a considerable word length effect, claimed to result from a serial letter

Cooperation in the Prisoner’s Dilemma: an experimental comparison between pure and mixed strategies [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2019
Cooperation is—despite not being predicted by game theory—a widely documented aspect of human behaviour in Prisoner’s Dilemma (PD) situations. This article presents a comparison between subjects restricted to playing pure strategies and subjects allowed ...

Integrating ankle and hip strategies for the stabilization of upright standing: An intermittent control model

open access: yesFrontiers in Computational Neuroscience, 2022
Even in unperturbed upright standing of healthy young adults, body sway involves concurrent oscillations of ankle and hip joints, thus suggesting to using biomechanical models with at least two degrees of freedom, namely, a double inverted pendulum (DIP)

Chemical stability of hydrogen boride nanosheets in water

open access: yesCommunications Materials, 2021
Nanoscale boron-based materials are promising for electronic devices, and it is important to understand their chemical stability. Here, hydrogen boride nanosheets are stable against hydrolysis in water, which ab initio calculations attribute to the ...

Private Information and Pure-Strategy Equilibria [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Operations Research, 1982
In this paper it is proved that in games with a finite number of players and a finite number of moves, if each player observes a private information random variable which has an atomless distribution and is independent of the observations and payoffs of all other players, then the game possesses a pure-strategy equilibrium. Examples are presented that

Research on Energy Management Strategy of Pure Electric Vacuum Vehicle Based on Fuzzy Control

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
The current pure electric vacuum vehicle is equipped with main and auxiliary motors, and the two motors work independently without affecting each other.
