Non‐Rigid 3D Shape Correspondences: From Foundations to Open Challenges and Opportunities
Abstract Estimating correspondences between deformed shape instances is a long‐standing problem in computer graphics; numerous applications, from texture transfer to statistical modelling, rely on recovering an accurate correspondence map. Many methods have thus been proposed to tackle this challenging problem from varying perspectives, depending on ...

Bioeconomic Analysis of Management Options for Tropical Fisheries Using a Bicriteria Programming Model [PDF]
A possible approach to the management of the multispecies multi-gear fishery in a developing country was explored. The small petagics fishery in central Philippines was analyzed in three stages. A dynamic pool model represented the dynamics of the stocks.

Abstract The marronoid clade is a globally distributed, ecologically diverse group of spiders. It is an important faunal component in both natural and synanthropic environments, and even found in aquatic and extreme habitats such as desert salt flats. The systematics of the marronoid clade has been notoriously unstable due to the widespread character ...

Comparative review of entanglement risk assessments for cetacean conservation and management
Abstract Cetacean entanglement in fishing gear remains a major global threat that exposes persistent gaps in how fisheries management frameworks manage risk to nontarget species. Ecological risk assessment (ERA) offers a structured way to link exposure and consequences to an explicit statement of risk, but entanglement risk assessments vary widely in ...

Integrating migratory connectivity data into the conservation of Australian sharks and rays
Abstract Understanding migratory connectivity is important for conserving highly mobile marine species facing escalating threats. Establishing baseline information on migratory connectivity is necessary for identifying species and regions requiring transboundary cooperation for their conservation.

Spanolepis selloanae (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae) infests Cortaderia selloana (pampas grass). It lays eggs in the spikelets, where larvae feed on female parts. The high prevalence of the midge and its combined impact in seed production, condition and viability strongly reduces the reproductive output of C. selloana.

ABSTRACT Extreme ocean warming has become increasingly pronounced in the western North Pacific in recent years. Coincident with this, both the egg abundance and the catch per unit effort (CPUE) of chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) in fisheries targeting southward‐migrating adults have decreased.

The harnessing potential of carboxymethyl beta glucan: A driver of skin repair
Carboxymethyl Beta‐Glucan (CM‐BG) drives skin repair through multifaceted actions, notably in wounded 3D models. It activates Dectin‐1 and mitigates inflammation (reducing pro‐inflammatory mediators, boosting anti‐inflammatory IL‐10) in cellular models, while enhancing epidermal differentiation and collagen I synthesis by fibroblasts across cellular ...

Trade Exposure and the Decline in Collective Bargaining: Evidence From Germany
ABSTRACT We analyze how rising trade exposure from China and Eastern Europe affected collective bargaining coverage in German plants from 1996 to 2008. Using cross‐industry variation in trade exposure and instrumenting with trade flows from other high‐income countries, we find that higher import exposure increased the likelihood that plants exited ...
