Elevated Temperature Fiber Push-Out Testing

MRS Proceedings, 1994
ABSTRACTThe potential use of fiber-reinforced composite materials for high temperature applications makes the development of interface test methodology at those high temperatures very desirable. A facility for performing high temperature fiber push-out tests will be described with emphasis on critical issues in experimental procedure.

Numerical Simulation of Metal/Cement Push-Out Test

Materials Science Forum, 2013
In petroleum wells, the adhesion between the steel and the cementitious coating material is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the mechanical point of view and of the thermodynamic stability of steels, protecting them against corrosion, preventing the escape of fluids inside and hydraulically isolating the structure against infiltration.

Push-Out Test on Shear Connectors Embedded in UHPC

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
The various push-out tests have been performed to investigate the load carrying capacity and ultimate behavior of headed studs in UHPC (Ultra High Performance Concrete), which has high compressive and tensile strength as well as high durability compared to ordinary concrete.

Numerical study of the single fibre push-out test

Composite Interfaces, 1997
The boundary element method (BEM) is used to analyze the stress transfer behaviour in the single fibre push-out test. The result shows that the stress distributions are well compared to those obtained from the shear lag analysis for the majority of the embedded fibre length. The BEM analysis clearly depicts the singular behaviour of interface stresses,

Behaviour of perfobond rib shear connectors: push-out tests

Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering, 1992
This paper summarizes the results of tests performed on 48 push-out specimens to investigate the feasibility of using perfobond rib type shear connectors in composite beams with ribbed metal decks placed parallel to the steel beams. The perfobond rib shear connector is a flat steel plate containing a number of holes.

Channel Shear Connectors in Composite Beams: Push-Out Tests

Composite Construction in Steel and Concrete V, 2006
This paper briefly summarizes the results of an experimental research program involving the testing of push-out specimens with channel shear connectors. The test program consisted of three series, each with twelve push-out specimens. In each series, six specimens had solid concrete slabs and the other six specimens had concrete slabs incorporating wide-

Thermal analysis of push-out tests at elevated temperatures

Fire Safety Journal, 2013
Abstract An essential component of a composite beam is the shear connection between the steel section and the concrete slab. Contrasting to the great quantity of push-out tests carried out at room temperature, a reduced number of push-out tests at elevated temperatures has been reported.

Interfacial mechanics of push-out tests: theory and experiments

Composites Part A: Applied Science and Manufacturing, 2001
Abstract The thermo-mechanical characterization of interfaces in composite systems (PMC/MMC/IMC/CMC) is one of the challenging problems in composite mechanics and engineering. Each system has its own distinguishing features; however, in MMCs and IMCs the study is rendered more complex due to the evolving chemical species (both temporally and ...

Push-out tests of concrete-filled stainless steel SHS tubes

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2018
Abstract A total of 32 push-out tests were conducted in this paper on concrete-filled stainless steel square hollow section (SHS) tubes with different values of height-to-width ratio, width-to-thickness ratio and concrete strength. The bond-slip behaviour of all specimens and the strain distribution on the exterior of stainless steel tubes along the ...

Measurement of Interface Propertes from Fiber Push-Out Tests

2008
The Kerans and Parthasarathy (1991) analysis method is presently applied to flat-probe push-out test data obtained from SiC-reinforced glass matrix composites. Upon removal of the system compliance from the data prior to analysis, the true behavior of the composite was clearly in evidence; several qualitative characterizations accordingly became ...
