An experimental and numerical study of twin dowel type shear connector [PDF]
The hunger for a better, more effective, more economic, easier for construction, and overall more sustainable bridge design is enormous nowadays. One of the solutions for the problems described is a steel-concrete composite structure with embedded ...

Experimental and Numerical Study on Shear Resistance of Notched Perfobond Shear Connector. [PDF]
In steel and concrete composite bridges, it is difficult to perforate the reinforcing bars through the circular holes of conventional perfobond shear connectors with multi-ribs. To ease the installation of perforating rebars, an alternative notched perfobond shear connector was proposed by cutting out the edge of the circular hole.

Behavior of Tilted Angle Shear Connectors. [PDF]
According to recent researches, angle shear connectors are appropriate to transfer longitudinal shear forces across the steel-concrete interface. Angle steel profile has been used in different positions as L-shaped or C-shaped shear connectors.

Shear Capacity of C-Shaped and L-Shaped Angle Shear Connectors. [PDF]
This paper investigates the behaviour of C-shaped and L-shaped angle shear connectors embedded in solid concrete slabs. An effective finite element model is proposed to simulate the push out tests of these shear connectors that encompass nonlinear ...

Shear Resistance of BESTOBEAM Shear Connector According to the Length
Shear resistance of BESTOBEAM, which has angle as shear connector and was developed with purpose of easy construction, was tested. With the test results shear resistance design equation was proposed. Unlike angle connector of Eurocode 4, BESTO BEMA shear connector behaves like fixed-end beam.

Analysis of Shear Performance of Multi-Bolt Shear Connectors
Bolt shear connectors used in prefabricated steel–concrete composite beams can be arranged into a group to enhance the construction efficiency, which will cause the multi-bolt effect and further affect the shear performance of bolt connectors. This paper developed three-dimensional finite element models of push-out specimens to investigate the shear ...

DEFORMATION CAPACITY AND DUCTILITY OF SHEAR CONNECTORS
AbstractDeformation capacity and slip range (eventually called “ductility”) of shear connectors are key parameters for the design of shear connectors in composite beams, especially in partial shear connection. Existing design rules require a deformation capacity of at least 6 mm for the use of shear connectors with plastic design methods.

Research on the Shear Behaviour of Composite Shear Connectors
In order to make full use of the advantages of welded stud and perfobond rib shear connectors, a new type of composite shear connector is proposed. Studs are welded to the perforated steel plate of the PBL connectors. Six specimens were designed and tested to investigate the shear behaviour of the composite connectors.
