Dynamic and Static Reconfiguration Analysis of Solar PV Array
YMER Digital, 2022Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are increasingly attractive due to renewable in nature. Solar PV module technologies are paying more attention to enhance the energy production. Partial Shading (PS) will reduce the output power of the PV panel. The PS also causes problems such as mismatch loss and hotspots.

Electrical PV Array Reconfiguration Strategy for Energy Extraction Improvement in Grid-Connected PV Systems [PDF]
This paper applies a dynamical electrical array reconfiguration (EAR) strategy on the photovoltaic (PV) generator of a grid-connected PV system based on a plant-oriented configuration, in order to improve its energy production when the operating conditions of the solar panels are different.

Abstract Photovoltaic (PV) plants can be exposed to partial shading, which reduces the energy production and causes multi-peaks to form in the Power-Voltage (P-V) curve. As a result, the row currents of the PV modules will not be constant.

A Rapid Feasibility Checking for Reconfiguration of Mismatched PV Arrays
2019 IEEE 46th Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC), 2019Power generation efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) arrays is significantly affected by partial shading and PV cell damage. Partial shading or PV cell damage induces mismatched power generation among PV panels and causes an efficiency loss of power generation.

A Reconfigurable PV Array Scheme Integrated Into an Electric Vehicle
Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Conference 2013 (HEVC 2013), 2013This paper outlines an adaptive photovoltaic (PV) array topology and control scheme which has been implemented on a small battery electric vehicle. An array of PV cells is reconfigured in real time via a switching matrix to maintain a close proximity between the array's maximum power point and vehicle DC bus voltage.

A New reconfiguration method for PV array system
IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013In this study, a method that reconfigures the connection structure of photovoltaic panels has been suggested. It has been applied under partial shading conditions in order to increase the power gained from the photovoltaic array. In the presented method, all submodules of array are formed with the panels that have similar insolation as far as possible.

A Current Supported PV Array Reconfiguration Technique to Mitigate Partial Shading
IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, 2021Partial shading in a solar PV plant is an important concern as it reduces the output power. Dynamic array reconfiguration (DAR) helps in reducing the impact of partial shading. But, it has its own limitations. Further, DAR does not guarantee single peak in array power-voltage characteristics during partial shading.

Mismatching operating conditions (due to clouds, shading, non-uniform aging, manufacturing tolerances, etc.) strongly limit the energetic efficiency and the reliability of PV plants. The dynamical re-configuration of PV modules represents a promising solution in order to mitigate the drawbacks associated to mismatching phenomena. The goal of this paper

Embedded reconfiguration of panels to obtain the maximum power of a PV array
2016 IEEE 16th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC), 2016This document presents the reconfiguration of solar panels to improve the power curve from a Photovoltaic array. The proposal consists in an embedded system aimed to reconnect each PV panel and therefore change the properties of the entire array. Simulated waveforms are included for a 2×2 array and the analysis is completed with the experimental ...
