Large-scale electrospinning of poly (vinylalcohol) nanofibers incorporated with platelet-derived growth factors

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2020
Nanofibrous materials have great potential for use in tissue engineering due to their structure, which mimics the extracellular fibrous matrix. Increasing their biological activity is currently the main goal in the development of these scaffolds.

Effects of Surface Sizing Agents on BOD of Recycled Papers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Surface sizing agents can be major contributors to a mill\u27s BOD loading. A 2% solids application of polyvinyl alcohol will give little or no BOD as compared to a high BOD resulting from a 8% solids application of anionic and cationic starch.

Parity-violating aysmmetries in elastic $\vec{e}p$ scattering in the chiral quark-soliton model: Comparison with A4, G0, HAPPEX and SAMPLE

open access: yes, 2006
We investigate parity-violating electroweak asymmetries in the elastic scattering of polarized electrons off protons within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model ($\chi$QSM). We use as input the former results of the electromagnetic and strange

Silicified Wood‐Inspired, High‐Strength Fire‐Resistant Chitin‐Based Aerogels for Sustainable High‐Temperature Thermal Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by natural silicified wood, a biomimetic mineralized chitin‐derived aerogel is constructed. It can withstand 81 000 times its own weight, and its backside temperature is 130.4°C after exposure to ∼1300°C butane flame for 600 s, exhibiting high‐strength, fire‐resistance, and super thermal‐insulation properties.

An in Situ Crystal Growth of Metal Organic Frameworks-5 on Electrospun PVA Nanofibers

open access: yesAUTEX Research Journal, 2018
In this study, a simple, general and straightforward method for growing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) crystals directly on nanofibers is presented. A chelating polymer was first blent with metal cation and then electrospun. The obtained nanofibers were
