Miscibility studies of PVC blends (PVC/PMMA and PVC/PEO) based polymer electrolytes

Solid State Ionics, 2002
Abstract The miscibility of PVC blends (PVC/PMMA and PVC/PEO) was investigated. Experiments using viscosimetry and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were performed. The presence of attractive forces among polymers was evaluated according to the Sun theory by the determination of the α parameter from the viscosimetric data.

Recurrence of PVCs in patients with PVC-induced cardiomyopathy

Heart Rhythm, 2015
The natural history of premature ventricular complex (PVC)-induced cardiomyopathy is incompletely understood. The purpose of this study was to assess long term follow-up data in patients who underwent successful PVC ablation for PVC-induced cardiomyopathy. The subjects of this study were 60 patients (17 women; mean age 52.5 ± 16.8 years; ejection ...

Compatibility of PVC-chlorinated PVC mixtures

Journal of Macromolecular Science, Part B, 1977
Abstract This study deals with the compatibility of a poly(vinyl chloride) mixed separately with two industrial chlorinated poly(vinyl chlorides), denoted PVC/C1 and PVC/C2 (chlorine contents of 65.2 and 67.5%, respectively). The technique of mixing, examined for different compositions, is the main parameter for the compatibility of the resins.

Chemical Modification of PVC

Journal of Macromolecular Science: Part A - Chemistry, 1977
Abstract Despite the fact that polyvinyl chloride) (PVC) has occupied the most important position among general-purpose plastics, its industrial applications are limited due to its inferior thermal stability and mechanical properties. Many studies have been conducted to remedy these disadvantages.

PVCs, PVC-Induced Cardiomyopathy, and the Role of Catheter Ablation

Critical Pathways in Cardiology: A Journal of Evidence-Based Medicine, 2017
Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) are common arrhythmias noticed in the clinical setting because of premature depolarization of the ventricular myocytes. Although often thought to be reflective of underlying disease rather than intrinsically harmful, PVCs have recently been linked with worse outcomes in patients without significant cardiac ...

THE RECOIL OF RIGID PVC

Rheologica Acta, 1992
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is widely used in industry, but it is difficult to find any extensive discussion of theological relations that describe it. The present paper discusses the behaviour of rigid PVC in extensional deformations at various temperatures.

A PVC detection program

Computers and Biomedical Research, 1971
Abstract A program is described which enables parameters of prematurity, duration and shape to be tested as criteria for PVC detection. A method of detecting artifact has been developed and found reliable. Results using a prototype program tested with tape recorded ECG tracings and using an arbitrary logic are encouraging.
