Electrothermal microactuators using PVDF-TrFE

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1992
There is currently application in micromachining technology for a spin-on, organic piezoelectric material that could be used for microactuation. One material that possesses these properties and is currently being studied actively is the copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and triflouroethylene, PVDF-TrFE. It has been found that this material also exhibits

Dielectric nonlinearity of PVDF–TrFE copolymer

Polymer, 2000
Abstract The experimental study of small signal dielectric nonlinearity is a powerful procedure for the investigation of complex ferroelectric materials. Dielectric nonlinearity of a copolymer of polyvinylidenefluoride with trifluoroethylene, in the compositions 70/30 and 56/44 mol%, has been measured by an analysis of the harmonic spectrum of the ...

Dielectric permittivity of PCLT/PVDF-TRFE nanocomposites

IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, 2000
The use of ferroelectric polymer films as pyroelectric sensors and ultrasonic transducers has attracted considerable interest. Polymer-based 0-3 nanocomposites, consisting of nanocrystalline calcium and lanthanum modified lead titanate (PCLT) powder embedded in a vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene (polyvinylidenefluoride (PVDF)-trifluoroethylene ...

Geometry and Electronic Structure of PVDF/TrFE Copolymer

Synthetic Metals, 2003
Restricted Hartree-Fock self-consistent field method was employed to study all-trans molecular chain of P(VDF-TrFE) copolymer. Defect and gauche bonds in electron doped chain of P(VDF-TrFE) were found in our calculations, which could cause the relaxor behavior in electron-irradiated P(VDF-TrFE) copolymer.

Investigation of PVDF-TrFE nanofibers for energy harvesting

2012 IEEE Nanotechnology Materials and Devices Conference (NMDC2012), 2012
We have investigated the copolymer polyvinylidene fluoride, (PVDF-trifluoroethylene) for energy harvesting. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofibers were electrospun on indium tin oxide (ITO) coated plastic. The electrical response of nanofibers at different frequencies was investigated.

Gold nanoparticles doped flexible PVDF-TrFE energy harvester

The 8th Annual IEEE International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems, 2013
We have successfully developed flexible thin-film energy harvesters based on gold nanoparticles doped PVDFTrFE (polyvinyledenedifluoride-trifluoroethylene) copolymer. The thin film characteristics can be well controlled by the manufacturing process involving the spin-coating and electrochemical deposition.

Preparation of PVDF-TrFE layer-based bilayer composite PbTiO3/PVDF-TrFE films for MIM capacitor

Transactions of the IMF, 2016
The capacitor device has evolved from a simple device to an innovative and complex device. The capability of a capacitor is very much dependent on capacitance performance. Currently, researchers have shown interest in hybrid composites, which are capable of improving performance and increase reliability of devices.

Power generation by PVDF-TrFE/graphene nanocomposite films

Composites Part B: Engineering, 2019
Abstract Poly(vinylidene difluoride)(PVDF) and its copolymers are promising materials to fabricate self-powered devices, while their relatively low power generation capability limits their applications. In this work, graphene was added into poly(vinylidene-trifluoroethylene)(PVDF-TrFE) to prepare excellent piezoelectric composite films by a solution ...
