Nonlinear modelling of the PWM switch
PESC '88 Record., 19th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1989It is shown that nonlinearity due to the switching action in pulse width-modulated (PWM) DC-to-DC converters, DC-to-AC inverters or amplifiers, and input-current-shaping DC-to-DC converters can often conveniently be confined to a three-terminal structure referred to as the PWM switch.

New PWM method for single-phase three-level PWM rectifiers
ISIE '97 Proceeding of the IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2002This paper presents a simple switching method to generate a PWM pattern mostly relevant to single-phase three-level PWM rectifiers. The adopted PWM switching pattern is performed in a manner similar to the space vector PWM method, which is popularly used in three-phase rectifiers and inverters. A set of possible voltages is selected so that an equation

The characteristics of conducted EMI emission on PWM inverters with various PWM patterns
2002 3rd International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2003In this paper, characteristics of conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions of three phase voltage source PWM inverters are presented. The conducted EMI emission levels of PWM inverters on various patterns: SPWM, DPWM60/spl deg/ and THIPWM techniques are focused.

A unified PWM strategy for matrix converters and its dipolar PWM realization
The 2010 International Power Electronics Conference - ECCE ASIA -, 2010This paper proposes a unified algorithm for PWM strategies of matrix converters. A general form of the modulation functions for the matrix converter is derived based on the geometric transformation approach. The research results reveal that each allowable modulation matrix can be expressed as an indirect modulation.

A Novel ZCS-PWM Flyback Converter With a Simple ZCS-PWM Commutation Cell
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2008This paper proposes a novel zero-current-switching pulsewidth-modulation (ZCS-PWM) flyback dc/dc converter using a simple ZCS-PWM commutation cell. The main switch and auxiliary switch operate at ZCS turn-on and turn-off conditions, and all uncontrolled devices in the proposed converter operate at zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) turn-on and turn-off.

A Comparative Study of Sinusoidal PWM and Space Vector PWM of an Induction Machine
2019The inverter is a static converter that provides an AC voltage of adjustable amplitude and frequency from a DC voltage source. Any type of inverter (voltage or current) requires a control technique that depends on the type of machine to be controlled. Mainly, the standard performance makes it possible to evaluate and compare the different techniques of

Unlike continuous PWM techniques, Discontinuous PWM (DPWM) minimizes semiconductor switching losses and elevates overall system efficiency by introducing intentional breaks in the modulation process. This technical note details the operating principles and implementation of DPWM methods, which function by injecting a zero-sequence common-mode voltage ...
