Sparse matrix converter: Modeling and PWM control
2015 IEEE 24th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2015The matrix converter (MC) is an alternative ac-ac power converter by connecting directly input to output phases through bidirectional switches and without using any dc-link or energy storing element, therefore is called an all-silicon converter. Two topologies of matrix converter are established such as direct topology and the indirect topology.

Delta-modulated buck-type PWM converter
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1992A delta-modulated, buck-type, three-phase pulse-width modulation (PWM) rectifier is described. The rectifier is of the current source type and is intended to be used in conjunction with controlled current inverters. An outer proportional feedback loop regulates the unidirectional output current flowing through the DC link.

The dynamics of a PWM boost converter with resistive input
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1999This paper investigates the large- and small-signal response issues and, in particular, the inner loop gain and outer loop response of an indirect control method for active power-factor correction. The control scheme is based on sensing the average inductor current and generating a D/sub OFF/ (the complement of the switch duty cycle) which is ...

Automatic modeling of PWM DC-DC converters
IEEE Power Electronics Letters, 2003Different small-signal models are available for describing the dynamics of pulse width modulators (PWM) dc-to-dc converters. Discrete time models reach the best compliance in real life situations. Some converter control modes, in particular phase shifting, provide advantages of modeling in discrete time.

Phase Compensation Resonant Controller for PWM Converters
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, 2013This paper develops a phase compensation method for resonant control. Phase compensation enables resonant control to achieve high tracking accuracy, wide stability range and fast error convergence rate. A simple and efficient phase compensation resonant control scheme is proposed for a single-phase PWM inverter.

Family of Zero-Current Transition PWM Converters
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2008In this paper, a new auxiliary circuit is introduced for applying to buck, buck-boost, zeta, forward, and flyback converters. This auxiliary circuit provides a zero-current switching condition for all switching elements. The proposed zero-current transition (ZCT) pulsewidth-modulated buck converter is briefly described. Also, a ZCT flyback converter is

An integrated digital PWM DC/DC converter
ICECS 2000. 7th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.00EX445), 2002In this paper, a simple, integrated, and digitally controlled PWM DC/DC converter is proposed. All circuits can be implemented on a single chip. Behavior modeling and techniques for increasing resolution for this digital controller are also discussed. Despite of its simple architecture, simulation results show competitive performance among general PWM ...

Indirect modulation for current source PWM converter
2017 IEEE 26th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2017Compared with carrier based sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM), space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) is widely used because of its higher current (voltage) utilization factor. In current source converter (CSC), SVPWM technique is harder to achieve than voltage source converter (VSC). To make the implementation of CSC SVPWM technique easier,

Common-Mode Injection PWM for Parallel Converters
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2015The ac-side terminal voltages of parallel-connected converters are different if the line reactive drops of the individual converters are different. This could result either from differences in per-phase inductances or from differences in the line currents of the converters. In such cases, the modulating signals are different for the converters.

ROBUST CONTROL OF INTERLEAVED SYNCHRONOUS PWM BUCK CONVERTERS
Control and Intelligent Systems, 2007The problem of controlling interleaved buck power converters is considered. The aim is to regulate the output voltage of the converter and to ensure an adequate current sharing between its different channels. The control law is designed from the large-signal bilinear model (of the whole multi-channels converter) using the backstepping technique.
