An analysis of delta modulated PWM inverter
1985 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1985This paper presents an analysis of a voltage source delta modulation (DM) inverter. The delta modulation method provides several advantageous characteristics over commonly used sine modulation process. It is relatively easy to implement and provides low harmonics at the inverter output.

Inductor commutation soft-switched PWM inverter driven by frequency-modulated PWM signal
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1998This paper presents a novel technique using frequency modulation (FM) to improve the efficiency of an inductor commutation soft-switched pulse-width-modulation (PWM) inverter (ICSI). In the ICSI, a circulating current for soft switching always flows through the switches of the inverter, independent of the load and input signal.

Linearization of Over-Modulation in Dodecagonal Space Vector PWM
2019 IEEE 28th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2019Growing commercial acceptance of electric vehicles (EV) resulted in increased focus on the development of technologies associated with it. This includes research on vehicle charging systems, traction inverters and motors, transmission systems, cooling mechanisms to name a few.

Analysis of nonlinear dynamics in delta modulators for PWM control
2004 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37512), 2004This paper studies dynamics of the delta modulators for PWM control of inverters. First, we introduce normal form circuit equation and 1-D return map. We then clarify that the system exhibits nonperiodic behavior in wide parameter region. Second, we apply compulsory switching to the circuit.

FPGA Implementation and Evaluation of a PWM-Based RF Modulator
2018 Argentine Conference on Automatic Control (AADECA), 2018In this paper we present a modulator for an all-digital pulse-width modulated (PWM) transmitter based on switching amplification. In this approach, each symbol is represented by a sequence of pre-computed PWM pulse widths stored in a table that results in reduced Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), achieving low distortion with a reduced pulse-rate.

Near-Optimum On-Line Modulation of PWM Inverters
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983Abstract The paper analyses the influence of the total harmonic deviation on supplementary losses and torque pulsations in the induction motor. By dissembling the deviation between the stator flux-linkage polygon and the fundamental circle into its components, a new insight is won.

Different PWM modulation techniques indexes performance evaluation
ISIE '93 - Budapest: IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Conference Proceedings, 2002Fully digital AC drives with pulse width modulated inverters are becoming an industrial standard. For PWM inverters several strategies are used. A complete view of the most common carrier based strategies, as sinusoidal PWM, third harmonic injected PWM, discontinuous or dead band PWM and space vector PWM is presented. The authors propose a method based

Custom PWM modulator implementation in FPGA
2021Implementing custom converter control algorithms or non-standard modulation techniques in an FPGA requires a dedicated pulse-width modulation (PWM) module. This technical note outlines how to design and validate a custom, triangular-carrier PWM modulator within the Xilinx FPGA of an imperix controller.

PWM sinusoidal inverter with modulation switching and carrier frequency modulation
1998 International Conference on Power Electronic Drives and Energy Systems for Industrial Growth, 1998. Proceedings., 2005This paper discusses basic characteristics of the pulse width modulation (PWM) sinusoidal inverter achieved by means of modulation switching operations. The considered PWM is to repeat the operation of leading and trailing edge modulation at each peak of a reference sinusoidal signal.

Interleaved PWM with discontinuous space-vector modulation
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1999This paper describes the effect of interleaved discontinuous space-vector modulation (SVM) in paralleled three-phase systems using three-phase pulsewidth modulation (PWM) rectifiers as an example. At the discontinuous point of the SVM, the phase shift between the switching signals of the paralleled modules generates a zero-sequence excitation to the ...
