Small Bowel Lesions and Bleeding Risk in Hemodialysis Patients: A Narrative Review

open access: yesHemodialysis International, EarlyView.

Endocervical gastric‐type AIS: a rare histologic finding that further supports the hypothesis of a pyloric‐type metaplastic origin

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
Background Gastric‐type adenocarcinoma in situ (gAIS) is a rare, HPV‐independent precursor of cervical adenocarcinoma with incompletely defined histogenesis. Aims To report a case of gAIS and its association with pyloric‐type gastric metaplasia. Materials and Methods A case of gAIS in a 70‐year‐old woman with atypical glandular cells (Pap test) and ...

Comprehensive and reproducible grading of the Updated Sydney System in gastric biopsies using artificial intelligence: multi‐pathologist validation and a reader study

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
SydneyMTL is an interpretable multi‐task model providing four‐level grading for the five Sydney System attributes. By significantly improving diagnostic concordance and reducing reading time, it offers a robust clinical tool to alleviate pathologist workloads and standardize routine gastric biopsy screening.

Association of Interleukin‐17F Polymorphisms (rs763780, rs9382084, rs2397084, and rs12203582) With Gastric Cancer Susceptibility According to Helicobacter pylori Infection Status

open access: yesInternational Journal of Immunogenetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the interleukin‐17F (IL‐17F) gene may modulate inflammatory responses, with distinct effects on inflammation and tumour progression. Helicobacter pylori infection, a Group 1 carcinogen, is strongly associated with gastric cancer (GC) development.

DNA barcoding reveals the presence of Whitson's grenadier, Macrourus whitsoni, in sub‐Antarctic waters of South Georgia, Southern Ocean

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Macrourid species constitute the main bycatch in Southern Ocean toothfish longline fisheries. We report the first confirmed record of Whitson's grenadier, Macrourus whitsoni, in the South Georgia toothfish fishery. Mitochondrial cox1 DNA barcoding confirmed its presence in bycatch samples collected around South Georgia and the northern South ...
