Pyramiding blast, bacterial blight and brown planthopper resistance genes in rice restorer lines

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2016
Rice blast, bacterial blight (BB) and brown planthopper (BPH) are the three main pests of rice. This study investigated pyramiding genes resistant to blast, BB and BPH to develop restorer lines.

Pyramidic Mesophases

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung A, 1985
Two series of mesogenic compounds consisting of a rigid pyramidal central core and six equal flexible side chains were synthesized and their mesomorphic properties studied by calorimetry and optical microscopy. The two series of compounds are: I-hexaalkyloxytribenzocyclononene and II-hexaalkanoyloxytribenzocyclononene.

High‐Temperature Nanoindentation of Metals: Assessing Thermal Drift, Frame Compliance, and Chemical Composition Effects on the Reported Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Mechanisms of Degradation in Li‐Ion Batteries Under Low Temperature Exposures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐temperature exposures, or freeze‐thaw cycles, are observed to significantly accelerate the degradation of Li‐ion batteries. A combination of electrolyte phase separation and mechanochemical stress leads to reversible and irreversible performance losses.

CREDINȚELE ELEVILOR CU PRIVIRE LA INTELIGENȚĂ (implicaţii pentru mediul şcolar)

open access: yesPsihologie, 2019
Carol Dweck a revoluționat modul în care ne raportăm la motivație și orientarea scopurilor, la efort și abilitate și percepția rolului lor în obținerea performanței, și, poate cel mai important aspect, a cercetat credințele oamenilor cu privire la ...
