Mechanochemically Disordered Li2Ta2OCl10 Oxyhalide Unlocks Superionic Conductivity (>10 mS.cm−1)

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a new crystalline oxyhalide, Li2Ta2OCl10, built from [Ta2OCl10]2− dimers. The disorder induced by ball‐milling drives the dramatic 5000‐fold increase in ionic conductivity to reach 11 mS.cm−1. The material shows promise as a solid electrolyte for batteries and opens new prospects for the discovery of new dimer‐based compounds ...

Chemical Rounding Suppresses Morphology‐Induced Interfacial Losses in Perovskite–Silicon Tandem Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Chemical rounding transforms irregular submicron silicon textures into more favorable interfaces for perovskite–silicon tandems. Suppressed local epitaxial ordering improves bottom‐cell passivation, while the top‐cell stack exhibits a higher and more spatially uniform quasi‐Fermi‐level splitting, enabling monolithic tandem solar cells with an ...

Conformationally Switchable Copper(I) Complexes Amplify BODIPY Triplet Photosensitization

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Coupling a structurally switchable Cu(I) complex to an organic light‐harvesting chromophore boosts photoinduced intersystem crossing via the transient formation of a Cu(II) intermediate. Spectroscopic, physical, computational, and photocatalytic studies support this unique new approach to solar energy upconversion.
