Development and Validation of a HPLC‐UV Method for Simultaneous Determination of Five Sulfonylurea Herbicide Residues in Groundnut Oil Followed by Matrix Solid‐Phase Dispersion

open access: yesInternational Scholarly Research Notices, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
A simple, sensitive, and inexpensive method was developed using matrix solid‐phase dispersion (MSPD), together with high performance liquid chromatographic method for determination of sulfonylurea herbicide residues (nicosulfuron, pyrazosulfuron ethyl, metsulfuron methyl, chlorsulfuron and azimsulfuron) in groundnut oil.

Effects of Photosystem‐II‐Interfering Herbicides Atrazine and Bentazon on the Soybean Transcriptome

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 2, Issue 2, July 2009., 2009
Atrazine and bentazon are both photosystem‐II (PSII)–inhibiting herbicides that interfere with photosynthetic electron transport, provoking oxidative stress. While atrazine is lethal to soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.], bentazon does not kill soybean because of the capability of soybeans to metabolize the herbicide.

Globe fringerush (Fimbristylis miliacea) cross resistance to als-inhibitor herbicides under field conditions in irrigated rice in the south of Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2013
ALS-inhibiting herbicides usually provide adequate weed control in irrigated rice fields. After consecutive years of use, the Cyperaceae species, globe fringerush (Fimbristylis miliacea) began to show resistance to ALS (acetolactate synthase) inhibitors.
