Pyridinium halide promoted ring-opening reactions of exo-norbornene oxide

open access: yes, 1983
Ring opening of 1 with pyridinium chloride or pyridinium iodide in chloroform and/or pyridine gives significant amounts of halohydrins 2a or 2b, reflecting partial suppression of the Wagner-Meerwein rearrangement that occurs on ring-opening with hydrogen

A Solvent‐Free Approach for the Mechanochemical Upcycling of Bio‐ and Fossil‐Based Polyesters Into Value‐Added Chemicals and Bio‐Based Plasticizers

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 17, 14 September 2026.
Mechanochemical upcycling of bio‐ and fossil‐based polyesters with alcohols and amines using MeONa as the catalyst selectively produces synthetically useful diesters and diamides, giving only alcohols as byproducts. This green and efficient protocol is readily scalable and can be transferred to the upcycling of polyester‐based postconsumer waste ...

Self‐Oscillation in Photochromic Thiazolothiazole‐Embedded Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
Experimental observation of redox‐driven self‐oscillations at the soft‐matter/ambient interface of a photochromic thiazolothiazole‐embedded polymer by spectroscopic ellipsometry. The self‐oscillations are facilitated by a reversible electron transfer cycle involving the thiazolothiazole unit, a cross‐linked polymer matrix, and ambient molecular oxygen.

Alkoxyallenes in Modern Synthesis: Reactivity, Catalysis, and Complexity Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 17, 1 September 2026.
The last decade has witnessed a remarkable transformation in alkoxyallene chemistry. Although historically employed as synthetic equivalents of acrolein or as versatile 3C synthons, alkoxyallenes are now increasingly recognized as highly adaptable platforms for synthetic design.

Defects Induced Instability of Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
Defect passivation and grain‐size engineering in perovskite films are achieved through precursor additives, antisolvent additives, interfacial modification, light treatment, surface polishing, and temperature treatment. The synergistic effects suppress defect states and enhance film quality, providing insights into effective strategies for improving ...
