Visible light photolysis of a N‐(N,N‐diarylaminopyridinium) salt allows for covalent modification of a peptide. Mass spectrometry demonstrates that this procedure selectively labels tryptophan residues. Laser flash photolysis experiments show that bond formation occurs via a diarylnitrenium ion intermediate.

Selective purification of heart‐specific spinal and vagal sensory neurons by retrograde labeling and FACS purification showed enhanced spontaneous, optogenetic, and chemically stimulated Ca2+ activity. Transcriptomic profiling identified distinct ion channel and GPCR signatures in heart‐specific sensory neurons.

4,4′-Bipyridine-1,1′-diium tetrachloridodifluoridostannate(IV) monohydrate
In the title hydrated salt, (C10H10N2)[SnF2Cl4]·H2O, the dihedral angle between the pyridinium rings in the cation is 40.5 (4)° and the F atoms in the octahedral complex anion have a cis disposition [F—Sn—F = 85.32 (17)°].

A proline‐integrated donor–acceptor fluorophore enables multifunctional luminescence through rational molecular design. Water‐vapor‐responsive mechanochromic luminescence (MCL) with circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) switching and efficient visualization of latent fingerprints (LFPs) are realized from this single small organic molecule.
