The review focuses on relationships of oxadiazole derivative structures and their antimycobacterial activity including target structures in mycobacteria, in vitro or in vivo pharmacokinetic parameters, and toxicity. Apart from direct antimycobacterial activity, some 1,2,4‐oxadiazole derivatives can potentiate the antimycobacterial effect of ethionamide

Role of P2X7R in Retinal Diseases: A Review
ABSTRACT Background P2X purinoceptor 7 receptor (P2X7R) is an ATP‐gated ion channel that, upon activation by ATP, triggers the release of inflammatory mediators and induces apoptosis in cells. This channel plays a crucial role in the onset and progression of various diseases.

Abstract Background Intestinal failure (IF) is a life‐limiting condition that includes a variety of intestinal pathologies. Currently, there are few clinical biomarkers that reflect intestinal function or a patient's potential to wean off parenteral nutrition (PN), making it difficult to predict the clinical trajectory.

Human Pyridoxal Kinase: Overexpression and Properties of the Recombinant Enzyme
Pyridoxal kinase catalyses the phosphorylation of the vitamin B6. A human brain pyridoxal kinase cDNA was isolated, and the recombinant enzyme was overexpressed in E. coli as a fusion protein with maltose binding protein (MBP). Pure pyridoxal kinase exhibits a molecular mass of about 40 kDa when examined by SDS-PAGE and FPLC gel filtration.

Arrangement of the substrates at the active site of brain pyridoxal kinase.
The distances between enzyme-bound paramagnetic CrATP (a stable, beta, gamma-bidentate complex of Cr3+ and ATP) at the active site of sheep brain pyridoxal kinase and the protons of bound inhibitor 4-dPyr (4-deoxypyridoxine) were determined in the ternary enzyme-CrATP.4-dPyr complex by measuring the paramagnetic effects of Cr3+ on the longitudinal ...

Binding of a photoaffinity analogue of pyridoxal to pyridoxal kinase [PDF]
The binding of pyridoxal analogues to the structural domains of pyridoxal kinase was studied by fluorescence spectroscopy and chromatographic techniques. Two fragments of 24 and 16 kDa, arising from limited proteolysis of the native enzyme, were separated by ion‐exchange chromatography and used for binding studies with pyridoxal oxime.
