Skeletal Muscle Memory: An Update From the Antidoping Perspective
ABSTRACT This narrative review explores the concept of muscle memory, focusing on the physiological and biochemical mechanisms underlying information retention in skeletal muscle tissue as it relates to antidoping. The discussion encompasses the role of satellite cells (SCs) in myonuclei recruitment, resulting in increased myonuclear density and ...

The reactions of mercurated pyrimidine nucleotides with thiols and with hydrogen sulfide
In the presence of thiols, 5-mercuripyrimidine nucleotides are quantitatively converted to 5-thiomercuri derivatives, but these compounds are unstable and decompose at a rate dependent on the nature of the thiol. The decomposition involves three different reactions and proceeds via a symmetrical mercury derivative of the nucleotide.

A Comparative Experimental and Theoretical Study on Doubly Differential Electron-Impact Ionization Cross Sections of Pyrimidine [PDF]
To provide a comprehensive data set for track structure-based simulations of radiation damage in DNA, doubly differential electron-impact ionization cross sections of pyrimidine, a building block of the nucleobases cytosine and thymine, were measured for primary electron energies between 30 eV and 1 keV as a function of emission angle and secondary ...

Metabolic changes during cardiac regeneration in the axolotl
Abstract Background The axolotl is a prominent model organism of heart regeneration due to its ability to anatomically and functionally repair the heart after an injury that mimics human myocardial infarction. In humans, such an injury leads to permanent scarring. Cardiac regeneration has been linked to metabolism and the oxygenation state, but so far,

Liapunov exponent distributions and maps for multiple parameter logistic equation. Application to DNA and RNA sequences [PDF]
The multiple parameter logistic equation has previously been utilized to determine the global stability of ternary codes, based on the arrangement of different symbols within the code. This approach has been extended to DNA and RNA sequences, proposing a specific application in the context of reading and translation processes involved in DNA ...
