Pyrophosphate myocardial imaging

Seminars in Nuclear Medicine, 1980
Technetium-99m pyrophosphate myocardial scintigraphy is a sensitive indicator of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Over 90% of acute myocardial infarctions will result in an abnormal scintigram. The sensitivity is highest for transmural myocardial infarction, reaching levels of 95% or better.

Alternative photophosphorylation, inorganic pyrophosphate synthase and inorganic pyrophosphate

Photosynthesis Research, 1995
This minireview in memory of Daniel I. Arnon, pioneer in photosynthesis research, concerns properties of the first and still only known alternative photophosphorylation system, with respect to the primary phosphorylated end product formed. The alternative to adenosine triphosphate (ATP), inorganic pyrophosphate (PPi), was produced in light, in ...

Microfluidic Production of Pyrophosphate Catalyzed by Mineral Membranes with Steep pH Gradients.

Chemistry, 2019
Pyrophosphate might have functioned as an energy storage/currency molecule on early Earth, essential for the emergence of life. Here we synthesized mineral membranes involving iron(II), iron(III), and other divalent metal cations (calcium, manganese ...

Sodorifen Biosynthesis in the Rhizobacterium Serratia plymuthica Involves Methylation and Cyclization of MEP-Derived Farnesyl Pyrophosphate by a SAM-Dependent C-Methyltransferase.

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2018
The rhizobacterium Serratia plymuthica 4Rx13 releases a unique polymethylated hydrocarbon (C16H26) with a bicyclo[3.2.1]octadiene skeleton called sodorifen.
