A Systematic Review of Synthetic and Anticancer and Antimicrobial Activity of Quinazoline/Quinazolin‐4‐one Analogues

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2025.
Quinazoline represents an important class of heterocycles with diverse medicinal and pharmacological significance. This review systematically examines scholarly efforts toward understanding different synthetic pathways emphasizing the role of metal and non‐metal catalysts including some miscellaneous reagents employed in the synthesis of quinazoline ...

Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate reduces ischemia-reperfusion injury of the small intestine

open access: yesWorld Journal of Gastroenterology, 2005
To evaluate whether pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC), an enhancer of HO production, attenuates intestinal IR injury.Eighteen male rats were randomly allocated into three groups: (a) sham; (b) IR, consisting of 30 min of intestinal ischemia, followed by 2-h period of reperfusion; and (c) PDTC treatment before IR.

Persistent Activation of Sphingosine‐1‐Phosphate Receptor 1 by Phytosphingosine‐3,4‐Cyclic Phosphate Ameliorates Sepsis by Inhibiting Hyperinflammation and Vascular Hyperpermeability

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2025.
Phytosphingosine‐3,4‐cyclic phosphate was synthetized from phytosphingosine. Phytosphingosine‐3,4‐cyclic phosphate had a strong therapeutic effect on sepsis through sphingosine‐1‐phosphate receptor 1 (S1P1)‐mediated inhibition of hyperinflammation in macrophages and vascular hyperpermeability in endothelium via SIRT1 upregulation.

Induction of multiple heat shock proteins and neuroprotection in a primary culture model of familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease, 2006
High threshold for stress-induced activation of the heat shock transcription factor, Hsf1, may contribute to vulnerability of motor neurons to disease and limit efficacy of agents promoting expression of neuroprotective heat shock proteins (Hsps) through

A user-friendly Matlab program and GUI for the pseudorotation analysis of saturated five-membered ring systems based on scalar coupling constants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Background: The advent of combinatorial chemistry has revived the interest in five-membered heterocyclic rings as scaffolds in pharmaceutical research. They are also the target of modifications in nucleic acid chemistry.

Pyrrolidine Dithiocarbamate Prevents p53 Activation and Promotes p53 Cysteine Residue Oxidation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1998
Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC) is a thiol compound widely used to study the activation of redox-sensitive transcription factors. Although normally used as an antioxidant, PDTC has been shown to exert pro-oxidant activity on proteins both in vitro and in vivo. Because p53 redox status has been shown to alter its DNA binding capability, we decided to

Inulin Protects Caco‐2 Cells Against Lipopolysaccharide‐Induced Epithelial Barrier Dysfunction

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 4, April 2025.
LPS treatment of Caco‐2 cells significantly increases inflammation in Caco‐2 cells. This increase in inflammation is followed by downregulation of tight junction proteins and increase in paracellular permeability. Inulin pretreatment protects Caco‐2 cells against LPS‐induced damage to the epithelial barrier function.

Inhibitors of nuclear factor kappa B cause apoptosis in cultured macrophages

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 1997
The precise role of the transcription factor nuclear factor kappa B (NF- κB) in the regulation of cell survival and cell death is still unresolved and may depend on cell type and position in the cell cycle. The aim of this study was to determine if three

Enhancement of Cadmium and Zinc Flame Spectrometric Signals by Using APDTC-nButylamine-MIBK Extractants [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Ammonium pyrrolidine-dithiocarbamate (APDTC) and methyl-isobutyl-ketone (MIBK) extractant were jound to be considerably improved by the addition of nbutylamine especially for the chemical analysis of Cd(II) and Zn(II) ions.
