An Enhanced Metabolization Protocol for In Vitro Genotoxicity Assessment of N‐Nitrosamines in Mammalian Cells

open access: yesEnvironmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT N‐Nitrosamines (NAs) are probable human carcinogens and were detected as impurities in pharmaceuticals, which led to a concern for human health. NAs require metabolic activation before they become mutagenic, and not all NAs are mutagenic since their reactivity is related to their structure.

Synthesis of Substituted Pyrrolidines

open access: yes, 2016
The task of medicinal chemists in a drug discoveryproject is to synthesize/design analogues to the screening hits, simultaneouslyincreasing target potency and optimizing the pharmacological properties.  This requires a wide selection of moleculesto be synthesized, where both synthetic feasibility and price of startingmaterials are of great importance ...

The Impact of Augmented Renal Clearance on the Pharmacokinetics of Levetiracetam in Critically Ill Patients: A Literature Review

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Levetiracetam is an antiseizure medication (ASM) that has several advantages over other ASMs, such as dose‐proportional pharmacokinetics, high bioavailability, and minimal drug interactions. The drug is primarily eliminated through the kidneys. Therefore, dose adjustments are necessary in patients with renal impairment or patients experiencing
