In this work we report the effect of introducing pyruvic acid (PA) in the growing process of silica-carbonate biomorphs. Gas-diffusion and single-phase methods were performed, and different concentrations of pyruvic acid were tested.

Cooperative Hydration of Pyruvic Acid in Ice [PDF]
About 3.5 ± 0.3 water molecules are still involved in the exothermic hydration of 2-oxopropanoic acid (PA) into its monohydrate (2,2-dihydroxypropanoic acid, PAH) in ice at 230 K. This is borne out by thermodynamic analysis of the fact that Q_H(T) = [PAH]

ABSTRACT Purpose To investigate whether varying delivery times of hyperpolarized [1‐13C]pyruvate, enabled by the increased apparent T1 dissolved in deuterium oxide (D2O), affects the observed kinetics of glycolytic brain metabolism in vivo. Methods Eighteen healthy mice were injected with 300 μL of hyperpolarized [1‐13C]pyruvate dissolved in D2O at ...

Auxin and tryptophan homeostasis are facilitated by the ISS1/VAS1 aromatic aminotransferase in arabidopsis [PDF]
Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) plays a critical role in regulating numerous aspects of plant growth and development. While there is much genetic support for tryptophan-dependent (Trp-D) IAA synthesis pathways, there is little genetic evidence for tryptophan ...

ABSTRACT Aim Indoles are tryptophan (Trp)‐derived metabolites that are produced by the gut microbiota and may influence the gut‐microbiota‐brain axis in multiple sclerosis (MS). Indole‐3‐lactate (ILA) is reduced in persons with MS and improves MS clinical scores in animal models via its anti‐inflammatory remyelinating properties.

Technologies and Strategies for Metabolic and Molecular Imaging With Hyperpolarized MRI
ABSTRACT Conventional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) offers limited sensitivity for direct metabolic and molecular imaging using non‐proton nuclei due to low thermal nuclear spin polarization. Hyperpolarization (HP) technologies increase nuclear spin polarization by several orders of magnitude, overcoming this limitation to enable in vivo studies of ...
