Atmospheric reactions of pyruvic acid
Atmospheric Environment (1967), 1983Abstract The keto acid pyruvic acid, CH3C(O)COOH, photolyses in sunlight with a rate constant of 1.6 × 10−2 min. Comparison of data for pyruvic acid-pure air and pyruvic acid-NOx mixtures indicates negligible (≤5%) removal of pyruvic acid by reaction with the hydroxyl radical.
