Q switched Neodymium:YAG Laser Iridotomy

Ophthalmology, 1984
Twenty phakic eyes of 19 patients underwent Q-switched neodymium:YAG laser iridotomies for angle-closure glaucoma. Eleven eyes were previous argon laser failures. Penetration was achieved in each case with several shots in one session. Complications were minor and transient.

Q-switched operation of microchip lasers

Optics Letters, 1991
With a novel Q-switching technique, 6-ns output pulses are produced from a single-mode Nd:YAG microchip laser pumped with 120 mW of cw optical power. Rate-equation analysis indicates that with a pump power of 500 mW, Q-switched Nd:YAG microchip lasers having subnanosecond pulses and peak powers of several kilowatts are feasible.

Q-Switches and external switching devices

1976
The most important device to be discussed in this chapter is the laser Q-switch. This device, located inside the laser resonator, drastically changes the power and temporal characteristic of the beam obtained from a laser oscillator. Other switches employed outside the resonator include optical gates, which are used to select one pulse from a train of ...

Passively Q-switched microchip lasers and applications!

2003 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe (CLEO/Europe 2003) (IEEE Cat. No.03TH8666), 1998
Diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG microchip lasers are compact, economical, all-solid-state sources of coherent, subnanosecond, multikilowatt pulses at high repetition rates, with applications in diverse areas.
