Vitreolysis With the Q-Switched Laser

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1985
We present an overview concerning the current status of photodisruptive methods used in the treatment of pathologic changes in the vitreous space. In one series of 320 cases studied, 65% of the planned dissections of pathologic structures were successful. In a second series of 34 more complicated cases, the success rate was even lower.

Q-Switch Modulator as a Pulse Shaper in Q-Switched Fiber Lasers

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2012
An experimental study of several operation regimes of Q-switch modulator and their impact on the shape of Q-switched fiber laser pulses are discussed. It is shown that various Q-switch regimes including classical Q-switch, simultaneous Q-switch with quasi-mode-locking, or Q-switch with reduced interval between subpulses can be easily obtained using ...

Q-Switched Laser Goniopuncture

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1974
A new approach to treatment of glaucoma has been tried, in which Q-switched laser bursts are delivered to the anterior chamber angle. Nonthermal effects emerge as an important factor in the biological action of such laser impulses. Laser-induced defects in the filtering zone produced by Q-switched impulses have been traced histologically.

Optimum Q-switching Profile for Multipeak Suppression in Actively Q-switched Fiber Lasers

2021 IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC), 2021
We numerically investigated an optimum leading-edge profile of the Q-switching window for multipeak suppression in actively Q-switched Yb-doped fiber lasers. Through comparison among four different profiles, our proposed, sinusoidal function profile (increasing slope) is shown to provide the complete multipeak suppression without loss of pulse-energy.

Q-switching technologies: limitations and opportunities: finding the right Q-switch

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
Q-switches for laser ignition applications must meet a unique set of requirements. The inherent challenges to providing extremely reliable, compact, practical, and cost effective devices are daunting. The capabilities and limitations of various passive and active technologies will be explored and compared against generic laser driven ignition ...

Triggering Passively Q-switched Microlasers

Advanced Solid-State Photonics (TOPS), 2005
We demonstrate triggered operation of a passively Q-switched microlaser at 266nm. For repetition rates between 10Hz and 1kHz, the output performances (mainly pulse energy and build-up time) exhibit remarkably small variations.

Q-switched Ti:Er:LiNbO3 waveguide laser

Optical and Quantum Electronics, 1999
Q-switched operation of a Ti:Er:LiNbO3 waveguide laser has been achieved with up to 2.4 W pulse peak power (0.18μJ) at 2kHz repetition frequency with an intracavity Mach–Zehnder-type amplitude modulator. A theoretical model has been developed to describe the laser operation.

Q-switched unidirectional ring lasers

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1969
Traveling-wave operation of a ruby laser has been obtained by the use of a 5° Faraday rotator. Mode selection in a TW ruby laser with electrooptical Q switching is discussed.
