A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Estimation of Markov regime-switching regression models with endogenous switching [PDF]

open access: yes
Following Hamilton (1989), estimation of Markov regime-switching regressions nearly always relies on the assumption that the latent state variable controlling the regime change is exogenous.

Commissioning technology for switching operation between in-service crude oil pipelines for heated and normal-temperature transmission

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun
[Objective] In the inaugural switching operation between Pipelines Q1 and Q2, which were originally used for heated and normaltemperature transmission of crude oil respectively in China, the approach of “transformation while operation” was employed ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Connecting Information Geometry and Geometric Mechanics

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
The divergence function in information geometry, and the discrete Lagrangian in discrete geometric mechanics each induce a differential geometric structure on the product manifold Q × Q .

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

Passively Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser With Graphene Oxide in Heavy Water

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2014
Liquid saturable absorbers have some advantages in some aspects over solid saturable absorbers. In this paper, graphene oxide in heavy water (deuteroxide, D2O) dispersion was fabricated and used as absorber in Q-switched Nd:YAG laser for the first time ...
