A Synergistic Dual‐Antibody Cocktail Targeting α‐Toxin Protects Against Invasive Staphylococcus aureus Infection by Neutralizing Virulence and Enhancing Host Defense

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Two Hla‐targeting monoclonal antibodies (Hm0399, Hm0411) were isolated from rFSAV‐vaccinated volunteers. Their cocktail (Hm3‐4) showed synergistic anti‐S. aureus activity. Hm0411 blocks Hla‐receptor binding via salt bridges; Hm0399 potentiates Fc effector functions through hydrogen bonds.

Including Harvested Grain Biogenic CO2 to Address a Critical Flaw in Climate Accounting

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Volume 70, Issue 3, Page 661-673, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The international climate accounting system excludes both the biogenic CO2 sequestered in harvested crops and the biogenic CO2 emissions that occur when grain is digested or burned as biofuel. Despite being described in the literature as a critical flaw in climate accounting all parties within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate

Three reasons to price carbon under uncertainty: Accuracy of simple rules

open access: yesQuantitative Economics, Volume 17, Issue 3, Page 858-894, July 2026.
An easy‐to‐interpret rule for the optimal risk‐adjusted social cost of carbon is derived using perturbation analysis. This rule internalizes the adverse effects of global warming on the risk of recurring climate‐related disasters, the risk of irreversible cascading climate tipping points, and the usual effect on total factor productivity.

Redox environment modulates aggregation of ataxin‐3 in vitro — Implications for drug screening of cysteine‐rich proteins

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 11, Page 3376-3398, June 2026.
Redox environment modulates in vitro aggregation of Ataxin‐3, the protein implicated in spinocerebellar ataxia type 3. Reducing conditions stabilize native monomers and prevent aggregation, whereas oxidative conditions promote the formation of non‐native conformers and disulfide‐linked oligomers within the Josephin domain (JD).

On Gamification in the Context of Education: A Systematic Review and Evaluation Framework

open access: yesComputer Applications in Engineering Education, Volume 34, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The application of gamification techniques in education is becoming increasingly common across different educational stages and disciplines. However, the widespread acceptance of their benefits leads to their implementation without verifying whether these benefits occur, what they are, and to what extent.
