Hardware Sharing for Channel Interleavers in 5G NR Standard

open access: yesSecurity and Communication Networks, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
Interleaver module is an important part of modern mobile communication system. It plays an important role in reducing bit error rate and improving transmission efficiency over fading channels. In 5G NR (5th Generation New Radio) standards, LDPC (low‐density parity‐check) and polar channel codes are employed for data channels and control channels ...

A High Throughput H-QC LDPC Decoder

open access: yes2007 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2007
In this paper, design of a high throughput low-density parity-check (LDPC) decoder using overlapped message passing scheduling algorithm is presented. Regular hierarchical quasi-cyclic (H-QC) LDPC code is used in this design to provide good coding performance at long code length.

Analysis of voltage- and clock-scaling-induced timing errors in stochastic LDPC decoders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) decoders have an inherent capability of correcting the transmission errors that occur, when communicating over a hostile wireless channel.

Algebra-Assisted Construction of Quasi-Cyclic LDPC Codes for 5G New Radio

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Quasi-cyclic LDPC (QC-LDPC) codes have been accepted as the standard codes of 5G enhanced mobile broadband data channel. These standard codes are designed to support multiple lifting sizes and possess rate-compatible property, which can help adapt ...

Construction of Quasi-Cyclic Low Density Parity Check Codes for Magnetic Induction Communication

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The magnetic induction (MI) communication has been proved to be an effective method in the wireless underground sensor networks (WUSN). MI communication system based on quasi-cyclic low density parity check (QC-LDPC) codes is expected to improve the ...

Design of LDPC Codes: A Survey and New Results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This survey paper provides fundamentals in the design of LDPC codes. To provide a target for the code designer, we first summarize the EXIT chart technique for determining (near-)optimal degree distributions for LDPC code ensembles.

Novel construction of quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check codes with variable code rates for cloud data storage systems

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2023
This paper proposed a novel method for constructing quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes of medium to high code rates that can be applied in cloud data storage systems, requiring better error correction capabilities.

Multilevel structured low-density parity-check codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes are typically characterized by a relatively high-complexity description, since a considerable amount of memory is required in order to store their code description, which can be represented either by the connections ...

Generic Permutation Network for QC-LDPC Decoder

open access: yesIEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences, 2010
Permutation network plays an important role in the reconfigurable QC-LDPC decoder for most modem wireless communication systems with multiple code rates and various code lengths. This paper presents the generic permutation network (GPN) for the reconfigurable QC-LDPC decoder.
