QENS and NMR Investigation of Reorientational Dynamics in C61H2
Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1993The molecular dynamics of the dihydrofulleroid C61H2 [1] have been studied. Protonated and deuterated samples have been synthesized and characterized by 13C, 1H, 2H high resolution NMR, HPLC, TGA, DSC and mass spectrometry. The molecular dynamic has been studied by powder NMR, and Quasielastic Neutron Scattering.

QENS investigation of filled rubbers
Applied Physics A: Materials Science & Processing, 2002The polymer segmental dynamics is investigated in a series of silica-filled rubbers. The presence of inert fillers in polymers greatly affects the mechanical and physical performance of the final materials. For example, silica has been proposed as a reinforcing agent of elastomers in tire production.

A particle jumping in an octahedron studied by QENS
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2000Abstract We calculate the neutron incoherent scattering law due to a particle performing localized diffusional jumps in a confined environment of octahedral symmetry. An experimental realization for this model is provided by the fulleride Li12C60, where the Li ions diffuse within the octahedral void determined by the surrounding C60 spheres packed in

QENS: A glimpse into the future
Neutron News, 1993Abstract There is a debate going on about the raison d'etre of large-scale central facilities. They serve a multiple role and attract an increasing number of scientists, wheth & for a single specific experiment or as part of a long term research program.

Before one can interpret quasi-elastic scattering data sets one first needs to appreciate the concepts that underpin the neutron method, and the themes that recur frequently in the scientific literature on neutron science. Using a predominantly semi-classical approach, this chapter builds a phenomenological understanding of ideas such as cross sections,

Slow Dynamics in Liquid Metals as Seen by QENS
Zeitschrift für Physikalische Chemie, 2010Abstract The quasielastic dynamics in liquid metals has been investigated by neutron scattering extensively during the past years. Precise measurements of the self-particle dynamics and the coherent quasielastic response provided conclusive evidence that the relaxation dynamics is governed by at least two processes. These two time scales

Abstract The 4th International Workshop on Quasi–Elastic Neutron Scattering, QENS '98, was held in Nykoping, Sweden from August 6–8, 1998. Following the tradition of previous meetings, which were held on the grounds of Windsor Castle (UK), in apalace in San Sebastian (Spain) and in a converted farm house on the campus of the University of Parma (Italy),

QENS study of trehalose/water/acrylamide–acrylic acid
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2001Abstract This work reports quasi elastic neutron scattering (QENS) results on the trehalose/water/acrylamide–acrylic acid copolymer system, recently employed in agricultural chemistry. H/D substitution technique allows to separate the diffusive dynamics of trehalose from that of water.

Diffusion motions in hydrated sodium alginate by QENS
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010QENS experiments are very suitable for the study of water‐polysaccharides systems both for slow polymer chains dynamics as well as for faster solvent molecules dynamics. By a suitable choice of experimental conditions as well as a properly data processing we can get information about the motion modes of various molecular groups of polymer chains in ...
