Identification of qnrVF in a Multidrug-Resistant Vibrio furnissii Clinical Strain

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
We found a new qnr gene, qnrVF1, carried by a multidrug resistance plasmid in a clinical Vibrio furnissii isolate. QnrVF1 exhibits 44.6% to 72.5% similarity in identity with other Qnr family proteins. QnrVF alleles are mainly encoded by chromosomes of V.

QNR Optimization based Pansharpening [PDF]

open access: yesIGARSS 2008 - 2008 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2008
Quality Without Reference (QNR) index can be used to globally assess the quality of pansharpened images without the need of a reference high resolution multispectral (MS) image. The QNR index relies on local calculation of the Q4 index. Exploiting the local Q4 calculation property of the QNR index, we propose an injection model for pansharpening.

Molecular detection of genes encoding resistance to tetracycline and determination of plasmid-mediated resistance to quinolones in avian pathogenic Escherichia coli in Sukabumi, Indonesia [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2018
Aim: This study aimed to identify genes encoding resistance to tetracycline (TE) and plasmid-mediated resistance to quinolones in Escherichia coli isolates from clinical cases of avian colibacillosis in Sukabumi, Indonesia.

Prevalence of qnr genes in Salmonella in France [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 2007
To detect the qnrA, qnrB and qnrS genes among Salmonella isolates received at the French National Reference Centre for Salmonella in Paris, France.Antibiotic susceptibility was determined by disc diffusion for 499 Salmonella isolates including 320 Salmonella Typhimurium, 100 Salmonella Enteritidis and 79 Salmonella Hadar collected in 2002 ...

Phylogenetic Analysis of Chromosomally Determined Qnr and Related Proteins [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2013
ABSTRACT qnr genes were discovered on plasmids by their ability to reduce quinolone susceptibility, but homologs can be found in the genomes of at least 92 Gram-negative, Gram-positive, and strictly anaerobic bacterial species.

Characterization of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance genes and extended-spectrum beta-lactamases in non-typhoidal Salmonella enterica isolated from broiler chickens [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2022
Background and Aim: Antibiotic-resistant Salmonella is a public health concern. Fluoroquinolones and extended-spectrum beta-lactams are widely used for the treatment of Salmonella infections.

Hyperspectral pansharpening using QNR optimization constraint [PDF]

open access: yes2009 First Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing: Evolution in Remote Sensing, 2009
This paper presents a method for pansharpening of low resolution Hyperspectral (HS) images. The proposed method is based upon the optimization of both the spectral and spatial quality criteria of the QNR quality assessment index. The simultaneous optimization of the spectral and spatial quality constraints is obtained by means of the Pareto solutions ...

Functional verification of computationally predicted qnr genes [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials, 2013
The quinolone resistance (qnr) genes are widely distributed among bacteria. We recently developed and applied probabilistic models to identify tentative novel qnr genes in large public collections of DNA sequence data including fragmented metagenomes.By using inducible recombinant expressions systems the functionality of four identified qnr candidates ...

Dissemination of ESBL and Qnr determinants in Enterobacter cloacae in Algeria [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 2008
The aim of this study is to evaluate the prevalence and diversity of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) in Enterobacter cloacae clinical isolates collected from Algerian hospitals and to verify the association with qnr genes.MICs were determined by Etest for isolates giving positive double-disc synergy tests, and all isolates were screened by ...
