Enantiomeric profiling of quinolones and quinolones resistance gene qnrS in European wastewaters [PDF]

open access: yesWater Research, 2020
Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) was applied for the first time in seven cities across Europe with the aim of estimating quinolones consumption via the analysis of human urinary metabolites in wastewater. This report is also the first pan-European study focussed on the enantiomeric profiling of chiral quinolones in wastewater.

First Investigation of OqxAB nd Plasmid-mediated Quinolone Resistance Determinant Qnr Genes in Stenotrophomonas maltophilia Isolates

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Infection, Microbes and Antimicrobials, 2021
Introduction: Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, a non-fermentative bacterium, predominantly causes opportunistic infections in immunocompromised individuals and those receiving long-term, large-dose, broad spectrum antimicrobial agents.

Prevalence and characteristics of extended-spectrum β-lactamase and plasmid-mediated fluoroquinolone resistance genes in Escherichia coli isolated from chickens in Anhui province, China. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
The aim of this study was to characterize the prevalence of extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) genes and plasmid-mediated fluoroquinolone resistance (PMQR) determinants in 202 Escherichia coli isolates from chickens in Anhui Province, China, and to ...

Comparative Evaluation of qnrA, qnrB, and qnrS Genes in Enterobacteriaceae Ciprofloxacin-Resistant Cases, in Swine Units and a Hospital from Western Romania

open access: yesAntibiotics, 2020
Excessive use of antimicrobials and inadequate infection control practices has turned antimicrobial resistance (AMR) into a global, public health peril. We studied the expression of qnrA, qnrB, and qnrS plasmid in ciprofloxacin (CIP)-resistant strains of

Existence of a novel qepA variant in quinolone resistant Escherichia coli from aquatic habitats of Bangladesh

open access: yesGut Pathogens, 2017
Of 19 environmental Escherichia coli (n = 12) and Klebsiella pneumoniae (n = 7) tested for quinolone resistance-related genes qnrA, qnrB, qnrC, qnrS and qepA, four each of E. coli and K. pneumoniae possessed qnrS, and another E.

Identification and Genetic Characterization of Conjugative Plasmids Encoding Coresistance to Ciprofloxacin and Cephalosporin in Foodborne Vibrio spp.

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
Plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance (PMQR) determinants, such as qnrVC genes, have been widely reported in Vibrio spp. while other types of PMQR genes were rarely reported in these bacteria.

GWAS to Identify Novel QTNs for WSCs Accumulation in Wheat Peduncle Under Different Water Regimes [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Water-soluble carbohydrates (WSCs) play a vital role in water stress avoidance and buffering wheat grain yield. However, the genetic architecture of stem WSCs’ accumulation is partially understood, and few candidate genes are known.
